This Privacy Policy explains how Eegai Jobs ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares,
and protects your personal information when you use the Eegai Jobs mobile
application and website (the "Platform"). We are based at 1 North Street,
Srivilliputhur, Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu – 626125.
1. Information we collect
- Account details — your name, phone number, and role (job seeker or employer).
- Verification data — the result of the OTP sent to your phone and, where you complete Aadhaar eKYC, the verification status and the limited identity fields returned by the UIDAI-authorised provider.
- Profile and job data — details you add to your profile, and, for employers, the job listings you create.
- Location — with your permission, approximate or precise location so we can show nearby jobs and distance to a job site.
- Usage and device data — basic technical information such as app version, device type, and log data used to keep the service running and secure.
2. How we use your information
- to create and secure your account and verify your phone number and identity;
- to match job seekers with relevant, nearby openings and let both sides make contact;
- to review job posts and employer accounts before they go live;
- to operate, maintain, improve, and secure the Platform; and
- to comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. Aadhaar and eKYC
Aadhaar eKYC is carried out through a UIDAI-authorised provider. We use it only to
confirm that an account belongs to a real, verified person. We do not display your
full Aadhaar number to other users, and we store only the minimum verification
information needed to show that your profile is verified. We do not sell Aadhaar
data or use it for any purpose beyond verification.
4. How your information is shared
Eegai Jobs is a marketplace, so some information is shared by design:
- when you apply, employers can see the profile details you have chosen to share and your verification status, and you can see the employer's contact details;
- we share data with service providers who help us operate the Platform, such as MSG91 (OTP delivery), our Aadhaar eKYC provider, and hosting providers, under agreements that limit their use of it; and
- we may disclose information where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for as long as
we need it to provide the service or to meet legal obligations. When you delete
your account, we remove or anonymise your personal information, except where we
are required to keep certain records by law.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your
information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we
cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to
respond promptly if an issue arises.
7. Your choices and rights
- you can review and update your profile details in the app;
- you can control location and notification permissions from your device settings; and
- you can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting us.
8. Children
The Platform is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect
information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the
"Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
